Security Trezor Safe 3

The Trezor Safe 3 is equipped with an EAL6+ Certified Chip as its Secure Element, which mainly provides protection when unauthorised physical access is gained to your Safe 3. This is an important difference compared to the Trezor One and Trezor T, which do not have a Secure Element.

During the configuration of your Safe 3, you will receive a standard recovery seed of 12 words. This is unlike the Trezor One and many other hardware wallets. You also have the option to create an optional Shamir Backup. This is then in place of the default recovery seed. You can set a PIN code on the Safe 3, which must be entered when connecting to the Trezor Suite app. In addition, you can add a passphrase, an extra word that is part of your recovery phrase (default recovery seed).

The Trezor Safe 3's firmware is open-source for maximum transparency and security.
